Tournaments are silly and fun

Meaction

This year, as I am sure you are all aware, the MEAC was beset by a problem. The two best teams, Norfolk State and North Carolina Central were not scheduled to play each other at any point because of a weird unbalanced schedule. Norfolk State went undefeated and NC Central only lost 1 game. At least they had the chance to meet in the conference tournament.

Or not. Between the two teams, they had 1 loss, and in one night, they tripled that total. Tournaments are fun because they are so unpredictable.

Of course, they are also silly. I mean, how does any of this reward the best team of a season? Why do we put so much weight into them, as they are actually the best judge of team quality over the course of a given season?

Because they’re fun.
