It didn’t take long for Powers to discover how Townsend’s addition should benefit the young secondary. Powers was helping acclimate his new teammate to how the Colts did certain things during Monday morning’s first practice “and he’s teaching me some things that will help out my game,” Powers said.During the first week of camp, Hayden and Powers have been at their usual starting spots. Townsend and Jacob Lacey have worked as the backups. Lacey, a nine-game starter as an undrafted rookie last season, might be the third corner (covering the slot receiver) in the nickel, but Townsend was in that position during Wednesday’s practice.
