It wasn’t as highly publicized as his debut two weeks ago, but Tracy McGrady’s second start Thursday night was far more successful.

On the eve of his 35th birthday, the seven-time NBA All-Star threw two and two-thirds scoreless innings for the Sugar Land Skeeters, allowing just one hit and four walks against the York Revolution.  He threw 58 pitches, 28 for strikes.

So far, the Skeeters have split the two games McGrady has started, but no one can doubt the success of the publicity stunt.  In his two starts, the average attendance has been 6200 fans.  In the team’s other eight home games at Constellation Field, they’re averaging 4504.

There’s no date set yet for McGrady’s third start.
