Tracy McGrady to Try Baseball?

Back in September, former NBA star Tracy McGrady became a part-owner of a yet-to-be-named baseball team slated to start play in Biloxi in 2015.

Now, the rumor is…the seven-time All-Star might actually be looking to suit up and pitch.

During Friday night's Oklahoma City Thunder-Brooklyn Nets telecast on ESPN, McGrady's former coach, Jeff Van Gundy, spilled the beans on what could be an interesting career change for the 34-year-old.

"I think (McGrady’s) going to play independent league baseball as a pitcher this year. In the independent league,” Van Gundy said. “I’m being serious. I’ve heard from sources in Houston, seriously, that he’s throwing over 90 miles per hour."

Is this a thing?  Could T-Mac end up on the mound at a ballpark near you?!?

“I love baseball. That was my first love,” McGrady said last fall when the Biloxi deal went through. “Even to this day I love baseball more than I love basketball. People from my hometown would understand that.”

And in case you were wondering, that wasn't McGrady talking like a potential team owner saying the right things.  Dude's been battling the baseball bug since as far back as 2001.
