The Red Sox brass are looking to bring some help to the bullpen but have not found the right price to make a deal yet. The Rays traded for Chad Qualls who had drawn some interest from the Red Sox but the price was too high for someone who hasn’t really gotten it done on the mound this season.
The bullpen market is pretty weak and those that are available come at a very steep price. As is always the case, the Red Sox will have to comptete with the Yankees for any available relief pitcher.
