After losing Tyrunn Walker earlier this week to the Detroit Lions, the Saints have now lost another restricted free agent in Travaris Cadet. Cadet signs with the Patriots and that’s a good situation for him. They lost Shane Vereen and there’s no reason why Cadet can’t be a Danny Woodhead type for them with a similar skillset. Bringing him back wasn’t critical for the Saints, but they’ll need to find a 4th back in the draft process (or right after). Losing Cadet hurts a lot less than Walker, especially with Spiller on board and the emergence of Jalen Saunders in the return game. But the Saints will need to find yet another capable undrafted rookie back to develop in an effort to replace him.
