Per Jody Genessy of the Deseret News, Jazz rookie point guard Trey Burke is expected to be out for 8-12 after breaking his right index finger during the team’s preseason game.

Terrible, terrible news. Burke is considered by many the best point guard of the 2013 draft class, and had been handed the starting job for Utah as the team began its rebuilding process. The team will now turn to John Lucas III to fill in for Burke, leaving the team incredibly thin at point guard.
