Trying to end on a high note, Angels win 6-5

Can the misery just end already? Today the Angels were officially eliminated from post season contention. I guess we should applaud that it took this long to happen. Most of us gave up on the playoffs months ago, but the team kept trudging along and has played sginificanty better in the past month. But now it's over. We can all move along and look towards next year. Hopefully it will be better than this one.

Game Notes

— I had set out tonight to praise the new look bullpen for it's work the past month, but tonight they reverted back to some of their old habits. Coming into tonight the Halos had ben at the top of the bullpen ERA chart for the past month but Cory Rasmus couldn't find the strike zone, Dane De La Rosa found it too much and Ernesto Frieri gave up a homer. Still a ton of questions going into next year on the back end.

— I'm actually happy that Jerome Williams is pitching better. Don't get me wrong, I don't want him any where near the starting rotation next year, but at least he can go out with his held high. I look forward to seeing him pitching for the Twins or the Cubs next year.

— Is it just me or does Grant Green look a lot like Brandon Wood? The difference is that Green hits the ball fair a lot more than Wood ever did. Sure he doesn't have the upside Wood did, but Green definitely has a future with this team.

Halo Hero

Trying to end on a high note, Angels win 6-5

I think I've named Colin Cowgill the Halo Hero like two times before, but every time he plays he does things that are significant. I'm sure he has no future with the Angels, but if I had a choice I keep him over JB Shuck. I mean, c'mon how can I not give him the award…dude stole home, that's awesome!
