Former Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost is just a little more than a week into his new job as the head coach at the University of Central Florida, and he’s already making strides on the recruiting trail with a simple — yet powerful — pitch to local prospects.
He’s bringing the Ducks’ up-tempo, high-scoring offensive philosophy to UCF, and he’s telling recruits that if they want to play fast, then they need to come play for him in Orlando. And for a state that’s known for being a hotbed full of speed, that’s an approach that seemingly has no way of failing.
“One of the reasons I took this job was I wanted a job where I wouldn’t have to change much from what we were doing at Oregon,” Frost told The Jim Rome Show on Tuesday morning. “This place, with all the speed around here locally, we can do exactly what we were doing at Oregon.
