- On The Forcheck has the lowdown on Not Alone, a program to help our country’s soldiers deal with combat stress. Make sure to check out the Not Alone website as well. [via A2Y]
- The Kansas City Star reports that Dwayne Bowe has been suspended by the NFL for four games for eating his Wheaties. This comes just days after someone in my fantasy league refused my offer of Greg Jennings for Bowe because “Jennings is garbage this year.” I then traded Jennings for
Steve SmithSteve Smith, who caught two touchdowns last week. So yeah, this made me laugh. [via The Big Lead]
- The Big Lead looks into rumors that Bob Stoops could become the new head coach at Notre Dame next season if Charlie Weis is fired. Jon Gruden isn’t interested. Still, the likely option will be Cincinnati’s Brian Kelly. Chuck Norris approves.
- Stop me if you’ve had this thought before: Ken Rosenthal is a moron. I can’t even put into words how dumb his recent column on trading Miguel Cabrera is. Ian of Bless You Boys has a more rational, politically-correct response than I could ever put together.
- Maize n Brew, my go-to site for Michigan football coverage, has word from Honky God Zack Gibson that everything is going to be ok. And if you want to hear more about the Albino Beanstalk, head over to UM Hoops. (And no, Gibby’s not actually an albino)
- Shutdown Corner has a fantastic story about Cleveland
gopherWR/KR/PR Josh Cribbs and the son of his late college coach. Cribbs walked onto the field with Michael Drake during the senior night celebrations of Drake’s final football game. I’m a big fan of stories like this, especially with the way Cribbs handled it.
- The Memphis Grizzlies took three games to do something that the Detroit Pistons couldn’t do all season last year: waive Allen Iverson. Nice move by the Grizzlies’ front office. Too bad Joe D wasn’t able to figure everything out as quickly as Memphis was.
- The Baseline adds fuel to the fire that is Brandon Jennings’ stellar rookie season. I still have yet to watch his 55-point effort against Golden State (hopefully I’ll get to it this evening). If he keeps this pace up, he needs to be in the real All-Star game, not the Rookie-Sophomore appetizer.
Rob’s Highlight of the Day
During a great overtime game in Atlanta, Josh Smith denies Brandon Roy a layup in transition.
