Google is totally out of line. Everyone knows it takes 3 games baskets to be on fire, not 2. [via MGoBlog]
- ESPN reporter/personality/jackass Jay Mariotti was charged with seven misdemeanors yesterday, stemming from an incident with his girlfriend last month. I don’t know too much more about this, but he could face up to 7 years in prison. [via Deadspin]
- I didn’t watch one second of it, but Rafael Nadal completed his career Grand Slam by winning the U.S. Open last night in straight sets over Novak Djokovic. I’ve heard Nadal was amazing as usual, but unfortunately he had to compete with a Monday Night Football doubleheader. Such is life.
- The West Michigan Whitecaps lost in the first round of the Midwest League playoffs despite outscoring the Lake County Captains in the three-game series. This essentially ends all meaningful games for the Tigers organization this season.
- For those that haven’t seen or heard, George Malik is covering the Detroit Red Wings training camp in Traverse City for the next couple weeks. He’s posting his
novelsfindings at Abel to Yzerman.
- Award-winning novels nonwithstanding, I’m not a huge Mitch Albom fan. That being said, I’m glad he stuck up for the hometown team (not something he’s always known for) in his latest column about Calvin Johnson’s catch on Sunday.
- Like most guys, the fellas at Busted Coverage are big fans of college cheerleaders. They introduced us to the Oregon (again), Southern California, and Florida State squads yesterday. Hopefully we’ll get an SEC school or two thrown in soon.
- Gunaxin’s list of the NFL Assholes of the Week (a.k.a. fantasy busts) is pretty spot-on. They even throw in a shout out to Gene Steratore, the heir to Ed Hochuli’s throne. I’d add the entire Jets offense to that list too.
- I didn’t see this on Saturday, but rest assured I would have made a much bigger deal out of it had that not been the case. FAU’s Howard Schnellenberger kicked an inexplicable field goal at a key moment in the game, killing any chances of a comeback.
- The New York Jets came under some heat before their awful performance last night for apparently harassing Mexican reporter Ines Sainz. I agree with the guys at Awful Announcing: locker room = lion’s den. Stay out or get mauled.
Today’s videos after the jump…
ENTOURAGE SPOILER VIDEO OF THE DAY
OK, it’s not actually giving away anything to those that watched the Season Finale last night, but here’s Ryan Howard’s short cameo (in 100% jank ass quality) [via Big League Stew]

Not incredibly catchy, but definitely worth a link. [via Hot Clicks]
