Tuesday Links – Jeremiah Masoli 911 Tape, Gilbert Arenas Says He Deserves Punishment, & Erin Andrews’ Stalker Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison

Just one more day until Irish Christmas, so make sure you get a nice, healthy breakfast while you read up on everything you need to know in the world. Oh, and check out these links too.

  • Like always, Deadspin has the lowdown on the Jeremiah Masoli burglary case. The 911 tape is pretty funny, especially the “M-A-S-O-L-I” line towards the beginning. Masoli pleaded guilty and was promptly suspended for the 2010 season by coach Chip Kelly.

  • I don’t know if Gilbert Arenas truly means it or if he’s just bored, but he said that he deserves to be punished in an interview with Esquire magazine. Ball Don’t Lie has some info on a few other quirky details from the interview, but the whole story won’t be released until the issue hits stands next week.
  • Remember that guy that filmed Erin Andrews in her hotel room? Well if you happen to know him, don’t expect to see him for about 2 1/2 years. Michael David Barrett was apologetic for what he did, but Andrews wasn’t merciful, saying that “30 months isn’t enough.” I wonder what the family of that guy Donte Stallworth killed while drunk driving said about his “sentence.”
  • I’ve been hard at work coming up with bracket-by-bracket previews for this week’s NCAA tournament, but I’m definitely not alone. Gunaxin has the Ultimate Tournament team picked out, while Thunder Treats has finally released their Cougar Madness bracket. I’m sticking with my original pick: Heather Graham takes the title. And if you’re after free stuff, check out Mgoblog’s tournament pool (and this awesome t-shirt).

  • Over at Guyism, DC Scrap has discovered a new sensation North of the border. Stephanie Italia Ricci is a name I could definitely get used to seeing in the movie/TV credits from now on.

  • Should Michigan’s Manny Harris turn pro? MLive’s Eric Woodyard seems to think so. I’m not as sold, though. Manny still has holes in his game and he could definitely use some more muscle on his slight frame. However, I think he tests the draft waters at the end of the day.

Rob’s Highlight of the Day

Missouri high school senior Trey Starks jumps over a dude (literally) to throw down the lob from a teammate. And get this: Starks is 5’11”. [via Deadspin]
