Twins Perceived Value

Twins Perceived Value

Across the board, everyone was down in my latest update to the perceived value spreadsheet. It’s been a rough stretch of games for the Twins, so it makes sense. Still, since the last time I brought up the the chart, things are a little bit up.

The most notable names that I think are worth looking at two. Joe Mauer, number one. Look at how clutch he is! Whiners! He hits double plays, but he never leaves runners on base. Add to that the fact that he is knocking the cover off the ball, and you know what? Joe Mauer is pretty good.

Second, and the real value of the perceived value chart. It shows who might be overrated thanks to a small sample size. Helloooo Darrin Mastroianni! Third highest on the chart, thanks almost entirely to the fact that he is never up with anyone on base, and the few times he has been, he has come through. So congrats, you Italian stallion, you. Other than that? Nobody is really too much of a surprise. Less a surprise, is that only 5 players are really above average (above 57, in his case). Go Twins!
