Badger fans, ever wonder what happens at a football practice? Usually it's those of us in the media telling you what was going on in practice and you never see anything other than what happens on Saturday's in the fall. Well, you'll have not one, but two chances to see the Badgers practice before the annual spring game on April 20th.
Practices on April 6th and 12th will be open for the public to attend! Even better for the fan? These practices will be free to attend. Of course all of this is weather permitting and if there is inclement weather then practice won't be in front of the public.
“I think it will be great to give our fans a chance to see our team a couple times during the spring,” Andersen said in a press release. “Obviously our fans are a huge reason why we are successful and our guys love to play in front of the fans. These events are a chance for all of us to say thanks to all the Badgers fans.”
This is the first time since the beginning of the Barry Alvarez era that Wisconsin will open up it's practice for public consumption.
Fans can enter Gate 1 for both of the practices and the April 6th practice will see gates open at 10:30am. That practice will go from 10:45-12:45 and the April 12th practice time has yet to be announced, but according to the release it will be no earlier that 4:30pm.
Need even more incentive to watch a practice? How about the athletic department giving away a pair of 2013 season tickets at both practices as well as coach Gary Andersen speaking to the crowd after each of those practices.
