As we reported earlier on Wednesday, the revived XFL football league has announced that Jeffrey Pollack will serve as the league President. The league previously announced that Oliver Luck, father of NFL quarterback Andrew Luck, will serve as the XFL’s commissioner.
According to a new report from Sports Business Journal, the XFL “is deep in discussions” with both FOX and ESPN to broadcast the league’s return season in 2020.

The report furthers that should ESPN land the rights to the XFL TV product, the games could also air on ABC.
FOX already has a billion dollar deal with WWE which will see Smackdown Live move to Friday nights and FOX Sports beginning in October of this year, and with FOX shifting much of its broadcasting focus to sports while selling off most of its assets to Disney, the network could be looking to add the XFL to its sports package.

Back in December, The XFL announced the first eight cities to host XFL teams will be New York/New Jersey, Dallas, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Houston and Washington D.C.
The Sports Business Journal report added that while no confirmation regarding a network carrier is currently available, an official announcement regarding TV rights and deals could come as early as next week.
The revived XFL is set to kickoff following the Super Bowl in 2020, after a failed version of the league closed doors back in 2001. The league was created back in 1999 by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, and the second incarnation of the league was announced back in January of last year.
The inaugural season of The XFL crowned The Los Angeles Xtreme as Champions, and featured the following teams:

- Chicago Enforcers
- New York/New Jersey Hitmen
- Orlando Rage
Western Division
- Las Vegas Outlaws
- Los Angeles Xtreme
- Memphis Maniax
- San Francisco Demons
