Tyreke Evans left the game in the third quarter of the Kings’ loss to the Lakers. Thanks to Yahoo Sports, we have this quote, straight from Mr. Evans himself:
“I twisted my right (ankle) in the first half and the left one in the second half,” Evans said. “The left one hurts me more. It seems to happen to me all the time.”
The already depleted Kings cannot afford to lose Evans for any length of time. With no return date yet for starting shooting guard Beno Udrih, who is nursing a right shoulder strain, and projected third guard Francisco Garcia missing the Lakers game due to his own ankle injury, the Kings need bodies just to compete in camp. It looks like reserve Joe Crawford lives to play another day.
The Kings have just updated Evans status via twitter:
Injury Update: Tyreke Evans – sprained left ankle, listed as day-to-day.
