Tonight at a 6:30 scheduled game time, the Cincinnati Bearcats play host to the Xavier Musketeers on the diamond. The Bearcats beat Xavier yesterday 7-5 to win the season series. UC was powered by 4 RBIs from Justin Riddell. Riddell was named to the Big East Honor Roll last week, and is off to a great start this week. UC is 22-16 on the season, 8-7 in the Big East. Today is also a Ring of Red game. That means wear some red shit. The game time might be moved with the weather, so keep an eye on the skies. The Bearcats are going for the sweep, so let’s support the men. Also, I will be throwing out the first pitch. Ok, no I won’t. But, maybe if we started a campaign to get Bearcats Blog to throw out the first pitch, yeah, I nearly lost a lung laughing on that one too. That’ll never happen. We can all dream. We can all dream about things that are realistic and have a chance of happening, that’s probably a better outlet.
Speaking of great outlets, Bearcats Blog wants to shout out Eric Finan. Eric is a junior at UC. He’s also the Big East Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week. Finan ran the 5,000 meter run in 13:49.80, which won the competition easily. He set the school record, which he held, put up the best time in the Big East this season, and the 17th best time nationally. That’s a great accomplishment. Congratulations, Eric. Thumbs up.
