At noon next Thursday, October 17, Cincinnati kicks off basketball festivities for the men and the women with Midday Madness held at Fountain Square. Weather permitting. The event will be a fun way to meet the teams and will be something to do during your lunch break.

University of Cincinnati men's and women's basketball will celebrate the start of the 2013-14 season with Bearcats Basketball Midday Madness presented by Skyline Chili on Thursday, Oct. 17 on an outdoor court at Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati.
The hour-long public event is free and starts at Noon. It will feature coach and player introductions, friendly basketball competitions on the court, and the UC spirit squads. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to meet members of the UC basketball programs. Fans also can bring their business cards for a chance to win a pair of season tickets for both UC men's and women's basketball.
"We are excited for the opportunity to play outside in the heart of Cincinnati," UC head men's basketball coach Mick Cronin said. "It's definitely something the city has never seen before, and we are looking forward to sharing it with the community."
"It's an event that we have been working on for the better part of this year," Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Strategic Communications Brad Wurthman said. "Fans are encouraged to enjoy their lunch hour downtown with the Bearcats at one of the city's most famous landmarks."
Fans should park in the downtown parking garages near Fountain Square. Limited seating is available. The event is weather permitting.
