The first game of the Big East tournament for the Cincinnati Bearcats didn’t go well. Things were tight until the 8th inning. Zack Isler started the game for the Bearcats, and gave up 1 in the first, and 2 in the third. Smooth sailing until the 8th. With two on and 1 out, Isler gave up a single that scored a run. St John’s hit a high chopper to third for an infield single. UC went to the bullpen. Ryan Grove greeted him with a grand slam, clinching the 8-3 win for St John’s. Isler pitched well, 7.1 innings, 11 hits, 1 ibb, 2 ks, 120ish pitches, but 7 runs.
UC plays tomorrow for their tournament lives. They meet fellow loser Louisville at 10 am. Gotta hope it goes better tomorrow.
