According to Phil Chardis of the Journal Inquirer, Jim Calhoun and the UConn Huskies men’s basketball team will not have the services of 7’1″ center Enosch Wolf because he was denied admission to the university.
Chardis also states that Wolf could reapply for admission in the second semester.
So where does that leave Calhoun and the Huskies?
Well first off, they now will have just 11 scholarship players for the 2010-11 season. Secondly that leaves them with just two players over 6’10, Charles Okwandu (7′) and incoming freshman Michael Bradley (6’10”).
It should be interesting to see what happens with the style of play the Huskies will use this season.
Update: According to the Hartford Courant, Wolf has been admitted for the second semester and will be able to join the Huskies basketball team on December 18th.
