UConn Punter Desi Cullen A Semifinalist For Ray Guy Award

UConn Huskies captain and punter Desi Cullen is one of ten semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award, which is given to the top punter in college football.

According to the website for the award, particular emphasis was placed on the following statistics: net average, percentage of total punts inside the 20-yard line, and percentage of punts not returned.

Cullen has punted 43 times in 2009 with an average of 43.8 yards. He’s had eighteen punts be downed inside the opponent’s 20 yard line and has had seven been fair caught.

The finalists for the award will be announced on November 23 and the award will be presented during the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards show on Thursday, December 10.
