With the likes of the Vanderbilt Commodores, Maryland Terrapins, Iowa State Cyclones and Tennessee Volunteers on the UConn Huskies football team’s future schedule, you can now add the University of Central Florida Knights to it.
The two schools announced a home-and-home series that will begin in 2014 with the Knights traveling to Rentschler Field to meet the Huskies. UConn will return the favor in 2015 when they visit Bright House Networks Stadium in Orlando.
Of course this could change if the Big East decided to expand and invite UCF. But until that happens, if it even does, the two teams will have a two-game series on the books.
UConn’s future schedule includes Vanderbilt, Iowa State and the Buffalo Bulls in 2011. They will play UMass, Buffalo, Maryland and the North Carolina State Wolfpack in 2012.
During the 2013 season, Michigan will return the favor and the Huskies will also play Maryland, Buffalo and Temple. In 2014, along with UCF, the Huskies will play the Iowa Hawkeyes. UConn will play Tennessee in 2015 and 2016.
