It should come to no surprise for those of us live in Connecticut and follow the UConn Huskies women’s basketball team that they were picked by the coaches to win the 2010-11 Big East title.
The Huskies were an unanimous choice to win it as they were picked by 15 Big East coaches. The only coach not pick the Huskies was their own in Geno Auriemma who wasn’t allowed to vote for his team. Auriemma’s vote went to the West Virginia Mountaineers, who were picked second.
The Georgetown Hoyas were picked third while Notre Dame and St. John’s round out the top five. Former UConn Huskies player and assistant coach Jamelle Elliott’s Cincinnati Bearcats were picked to finish 15th.
