After UFC goes international over their next two events, UFC Fight Night returns to the United States on June 27 to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
In the two weeks prior, Cain Velasquez and Fabricio Werdum headline UFC 188 in Mexico City, Mexico scheduled for June 13, and Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Jessica Penne headline UFC Fight Night in Berlin, Germany at The O2 World Berlin on June 20.
According to TiqIQ.com, tickets to the UFC event in Mexico City are more expensive compared to the event in Hollywood. When the Arena Ciudad de Mexico hosts UFC 188, the average ticket price is $366.33, with a get-in price of $7. The event on June 27 has an average ticket price of $192.15 and a get-in price of $81. The demand for UFC tickets overseas is a great sign for one of the fastest-growing sports.
With lower ticket prices for the event in the United States, see the action in person by using Hipmunk.com for Fort Lauderdale flights. After the event, do not rush out of sunny Florida and check out the available hotels in Fort Lauderdale on Hipmunk as well, with rates starting from $53.
Lyoto Machida and Yoel Romero will headline Fight Night 70 and here’s how they stack up.
Lyoto Machida | “The Dragon” | Brazil | 22-6-0 | 73 in, 185 lbs.
Yoel Romero | “Soldier of God” | Cuba | 9-1-0 | 72 in, 185 lbs.
Machida is obviously a more experienced fighter, but is 1-2 in his last three bouts and is at a crossroads in his career. Machida is 3-2 as a middleweight but has lost a lot of momentum after losing to Chris Weidman for the title last July.
Romero’s record looks strong, but there is a rust factor that must be involved. Romero hasn’t fought since September when he notched a victory over Tim Kennedy by third-round knockout. Romero was in line to have a bout against Ronaldo Souza before injuries stepped in, but he has won five straight matches with four knockouts.
