I know Justin Verlander is awesome, but serious JR, Jose Tabata isn’t in Pittsburgh to sit on the bench even for one night. How, exactly, does not facing a good pitcher help him get better? I don’t get it.
Tonight: Maholm tries to break the Pirates out of their funk against Jeremy Bonderman. If things don’t turn around quickly, this interleague play stretch could be bad even by the Pirates’ very low standards for such things. First pitch is 7:05, Clemente/Cangelosi is after the jump.
