Ultimate 1-on-1 matchup #3: Dennis Johnson vs. Ed Macauley

1-on-1 After a tight game between Bob Cousy and Robert Parish (which Cousy won), Sam Jones took the Ultimate 1-on-1 court and waxed Dino Radja with more than 80% of the vote.  Jones will face off with Ray Allen in a few days.

Today, we stay in the White Bracket for a matchup between #11 overall Dennis Johnson and #22 Ed Macauley.

(11) Dennis Johnson
1-on-1 Advantage:  Defense.  DJ was a tremendous man-to-man defender.  Could also score and finish at the rim.  Before his Celtics days, he would regularly finish with dunks.

1-on-1 Disadvantage:  Size, speed.  At 6'4", 185, he can be susceptible to bigger players backing him down.  He was also not the fastest guy on the court.  Could be burned by a quick first step.

(22) Ed Macauley

1-on-1 Advantage:  Scoring, height:  At 6'8", Macauley can get his shot off against guards.  And he, like many others in his day, had a pretty good hook shot.

1-on-1 Disadvantage:  Speed, bulk:  Not the quickest guy on the floor, he can be burned by a quicker player.  He's also 185, which is skinny for 6'8".  He can be muscled by a stronger player.
