Trade One
Nuggets get Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green
Spurs get Gary Harris, Kenneth Faried, Michael Porter Jr., Malik Beasley, future first-round pick
Denver has never been a big time free agency destination so this might be their best chance to land a superstar like Leonard. The Nuggets would have a year to convince Leonard that a starting line up of Jamal Murray, Will Barton, Leonard, Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic can challenge the Warriors. Adding Green would help offset the lost of Harris while providing some 3&D help. While trading so much young talent and Harris is a risk, if the Nuggets can convince Leonard to stay, they could push the Warriors for the best team in the league while being younger and cheaper.
The Nuggets have a number of young players they can move like Beasley and Porter Jr. which would give the Spurs upside players for the future on rookie deals. Kenneth Faried is in the last year of his deal and will bring some energy and athleticism to a team that lacks both. Harris is the key to the trade as last season he had a career year, averaging 17.5 points per game while shooting 40% from three. Harris is just starting his four year/$84 million dollar contract this season, giving the Spurs long-term control at a value for a rising young player.
