Wednesday night, Alison and Matt sat down (sans Sam) to record a stats primer episode. You’ve seen us discuss shot metrics on the blog. For this episode, we wanted to try to lay some common ground, some justification about the stats we use on the site. Less CBJ talk than normal, but hopefully you will find this a useful way to start thinking about shot statistics, shooting percentage, and goalie performance.

Was it helpful? Do you have more questions? Let us know! We are always open to chatting stats, and finding ways to better explain our thought process.
As a blog, we want to be open about why we reached our opinions, and what tools we use. If any of this has caught your interest, we’d love to continue the dialogue.
