The Philadelphia Union announced a move Wednesday that they have acquired midfielder Alejandro Bedoya from FC Nantes. He entered the MLS via the Allocation Process, which the Chicago Fire had held the top spot until today when the Union traded a 1st round pick and discovery rights on a player of choice for the rights to Bedoya. He spent the last three seasons with the French club. Bedoya played 87 games while scoring 10 goals over the three years. Bedoya has also been a part of the United States national team in 2009,2010,2011, and 2013. The transfer fee is $1M and his salary will be set at $1M per year. It will be interesting to see where the Union put Bedoya into the lineup as there has been a hole in midfield ever since Vincent Nogueria left the team due to medical reasons. The Philadelphia Union are 1-4-1 in their last six and are hoping this signing can help the team to some extent get back to winning way.
