But hope is not lost, thanks to the ESPN Playoff calculating machine brought to us by Bucs fan lost in Canada; Shane Bernard! Many thanks Shane! Here is the site for the playoff calculator You can customize the calculator to determine if the Bucs can make the playoffs. Upper right where it says Criteria, you can choose if all home teams win, if all away teams win, if all the teams with a higher ESPN power ranking wins, or even if the highest defensively ranked team always wins, which by the way will get the Bucs in the playoffs. OR, you can go week by week, and manually put it who you think will win the game, and then it will tell you the NFL Playoff seedings. By selecting this team here and that team there, I was able to get the Bucs in the playoffs on several occasions, because the Vikings, Packers, Bears, Giants and Eagles all play each other so many times. …And that includes with the Bucs losing the final game of the season. While its true Atlanta, New Orleans, NY Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers all have better records than the Bucs, three of those teams are going to win their divisions and be eliminated from the Wild Card consideration. While its unlikely only one of the NFC East teams will continue to win while the other loses, if they can beat each other down to where an 11-5 or 10-6 record wins those divisions, that would mean 10-6 should get the Bucs in as a Wild Card. WEEK 14 Vikings over Giants Bucs over Skins Falcons over Panthers Saints over Rams Pats over Bears Dallas over Phily WEEK 15 Dallas over Washington Giants over Eagles Bucs over Lions Ravens over Saints Pats over Packers Vikings over Bears WEEK 16 Jets over Bears Eagles over Vikings Bucs over Seahawks Giants over Packers Falcons over Saints WEEK 17 Falcons over Panthers Vikings over Lions Packers over Bears Saints over Bucs Eagles over Cowboys Giants over Redskins That recipe is very likely, and will get the Bucs in the playoffs. It should be said, if the Bucs can beat the Saints in the last game of the year, the Bucs can get in the 5th seed and play AT the NFC West winner, either St. Louis or Seattle most likely, even if the Saints beat the Ravens in week 15. So while its tough to figure out who to root for, this is the path that got the Bucs into the 6th seed playing at Green Bay in the first round of the playoffs. If we can get the 5th seed, that would get us an away game AT the NFC West winner, a better game for the Bucs to be sure. WEEK 14
