Theo Ratliff plans to visit another doctor for a third opinion on his
injured knee and said he will likely need exploratory arthroscopic
surgery if a trip he’s trying to schedule to Waco, Tex., this week also
fails to explain the clicking in the knee that keeps him from walking
and running normally. He plans to go to Texas to see the same doctor
who has helped Houston star Tracy McGrady with his knee. Last week’s
visit to renown Birmingham, Ala., orthopedic surgeon James Andrews left
both doctor and patient stumped.

"It’s still popping," Ratliff said of his knee. "More than likely, I’m probably going to have to get it scoped. Go in and check it out and see what’s going on."
Ratliff said he will monitor his knee throughout the week. He said he might not need surgery, but he’s frustrated because two consultations last week with specialists didn’t give him any exact answers.
