BARCLAYCARD CENTER (AKA PALACIO DE LOS DEPORTES), MADRID, SPAIN — The Golden State Warriors will have more than just the #SplashBrothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who are on USA Basketball’s Men’s National Team (#USABMNT), with a vested interest in tomorrow night’s gold medal game.
Backup Warriors point guard Nemanja Nedovic was originally on the roster for Serbia, but suffered a stress fracture in his foot, so will not play and was left off the Serbian roster.
“He’s not giving away any secrets,” Curry told reporters this afternoon after #USABMNT practice, when asked if Nedovic had told Curry who the most dangerous Serbian players were.
“Better be ready for tomorrow fellas,” Nedovic tweeted Curry and Thompson, not long after practice was over.
“We’ve got a good scouting report on those guys,” Curry answered when pressed further on whether he already knew who the impact players were, “(Nedovic is) very tight-lipped. (He’s) not going to tell us much.”
Curry said #TeamUSA has studied Serbia and is prepared and isn’t overlooking any opponent.
“We know what to expect from each individual guy, how to attack them,” Curry added.
“They’ll probably try to slow the pace down a little bit, move the ball a lot,” Thompson said after practice today, “They play really well as a team together, run a lot of iso ball. They’re an older veteran team. We’ve just got to pickup the tempo on them and try to speed it up.”
