Sarkisian has spent the five past seasons at the University of Washington. Over those five seasons he has a record of 34-29 including an 9-4 record this year. Currently, Washington is waiting to see what bowl game they will be heading to as they are bowl eligible for the fourth straight time.
It was reported earlier Monday, that Sarksian was interviewed for the job, with it being no surprise that USC showed interest in him.
Sarksian, spent six seasons with USC as an assistant coach where he served as a quarterbacks coach, offensive coordinator and asssistant head coach under Pete Carroll’s tenure as the Trojans’ head coach.
USC also showed interest in Boise State’s Chris Peterson who early Monday morning withdrew his name from the list of possible candidates. The other major candidate was James Franklin of Vanderbilt.
USC was 6-2 under interim head coach Ed Orgeron who took over after Lane Kiffin was fired following a 62-41 loss to Arizona State.
Around 4 o’clock Monday it was reported that Ed Orgeron has resigned as interim head coach at USC.
