Likely fifth starter to make spring debut today

Vance Worley will make his spring debut today when the Phillies take on the Houston Astros. Worley is a likely fixture in the Phillies starting rotation this season, following Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels and Joe Blanton. Last season Worley took the mound with a certain confidence few rookies can exhibit but the question in 2012 will be whether or not he suffers a sophomore slump now that the rest of the league and division have gotten a sense of what he does on the mound.
Perhaps some of those answers will come today, when Worley takes the mound for the first time. Of course, two innings in a spring debut is hardly anything close to enough to predict what will happen during the course of the season, but a solid outing would be a nice way to get started nonetheless.
Today’s pitchers following Worley will be Pat Misch, Jonathan Papelbon, Dontrelle Willis, Chad Qualls, and Mike Stutes.
