Motocross is the original extreme action sport, and the Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship showcases pure motocross. The 12-round series began in California on Memorial Day weekend in May and ends in Pennsylvania on Labor Day weekend in September, and includes stops at premier motocross racing facilities across the country. While each track is unique, each race is run under the same format: two 30-minute-plus-two lap races per class with the scores from each race combined to determine the overall winner.The broadcast team of Jason Weigandt, David Bailey, Jamie Bestwick and Tiffany Simons will call the action from High Point Raceway in Mt. More than 1,800 domestic and international competitors earned the right to compete by qualifying at one of 33 Ironman 70.3 events around the world. The incredibly competitive field includes previous Ironman world champions, Olympic medalists, and other top contenders including Americans Matt Reed and Mary Beth Ellis. The championship will consist of a grueling combination of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run.WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS, SUNDAY, 5 PM ETNBC Sports presents the Emmy Award-winning World of Adventure Sports (WOAS) hosted by Pat Parnell this Sunday June 13, 5-6 p.m. ET. This episode features wakeboarding as the world’s best riders are showcased in Oakley’s Push Process latest action sports film. WOAS will then follow Guinness World record-holder athlete Ronnie Renner, and some of the dirt bike world’s most gifted athletes on the sandy wilderness dune fields of Glamis, Calif. Also in this episode, WOAS will provide an inside look at Castles in the Sky, produced by Taylor Steele. This film features world-renowned surfers Dane Reynolds, Rob Machado, Dave Rastovich and Jordy Smith as they explore new coastlines in Iceland, Peru, India and Africa. WOAS will also head to the skies with Red Bull Air Force, while they document Human Flight 3D providing spectacular 3D images and some of the most innovative skydiving skills in the world.
TNT continues its NASCAR coverage in Michigan on Sunday.
