Versus To Air Baseball! Really! It’s Stephen Strasburg’s Final Minor League Start

On the heels of MLB Network announcing that it will air Steven Strasburg’s Major League debut next week in Washington, Versus has just announced that it will pick up his final minor league start. Strasburg will pitch for the Syracuse Chiefs on Thursday afternoon against the Buffalo Bisons. Nice to see International League baseball on the air.

I think this will be a local feed that Versus will pick up.

STEPHEN STRASBURG, #1 PICK IN 2009 MLB DRAFT, TO PLAY FINAL TRIPLE-A GAME BEFORE HIS MLB DEBUT LIVE ON VERSUS TOMORROW AT 1:05 P.M. ET

NEW YORK, N.Y. (June 2, 2010)-VERSUS, the fastest growing sports cable network in the country, will air live coverage of the Buffalo Bisons/Syracuse Chiefs game on Thursday, June 3, at 1:05 p.m. ET, marking the first time that professional baseball will air on the network. The game will feature Chiefs pitcher Stephen Strasburg in his final Triple-A game before making his MLB debut with the Washington Nationals on June 8 against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ben Wagner, “The Voice of the Bisons”, will serve as the play-by-play announcer and will be joined in the booth by longtime Buffalo broadcaster, Duke McGuire. VERSUS will re-air the game at 7 p.m. ET.

Good on Versus for airing the game. As mentioned, Versus will show the game again at 7 p.m.
