Colton Parayko has been making a name for himself during the preseason with the Blues and that continued with a monster hit against the Blackhawks.

Blackhawks players and fans weren’t happy with the hit, but it was difficult to see the exact play considering the limited angles provided during a preseason game. The argument was that Parayko may have made contact to the head, but it looked pretty minimal and it definitely wasn’t intentional. From the view above, it doesn’t look like Parayko extends his elbow.
Later, the Blackhawks retaliated with an incredibly bad check.

That’s an awful play. The puck isn’t anywhere in the area and Brandon Mashinter comes well out of his way and targets Parayko’s legs. He was given a two-minute penalty for tripping, but you could have made a strong case for a misconduct.
