Recently, San Antonio Spurs 2011 draftee Cory Joseph visited his old stomping ground of Pickering High School in Canada. And while he reminisced about his playing day at Pickering, he also shared his thoughts on the NBA Draft and being selected by the Spurs.
Words such as “mind-boggling” came out of Joseph as he spoke about the draft and feels fortunate and blessed to be a member of the Spurs.
“Everyone wants to be a first round pick to get that validation as you were saying. But the work starts now. I can’t let this (being drafted in the first round) get to me. It starts now. The hard work, and just trying to get better everyday,” said Joseph on being a first round pick.
Check out the video where Joseph also spoke on what makes the Spurs’ system a perfect fit for him and his style of play, the reputation of the Spurs’ ability to develop players, what he is doing in during the lockout and more.
