After losing by 15 points to the Oklahoma City Thunder and seeing their losing streak get extended to 5 games, there was a lot of chatter about team building losses and the like. OKC shredded the Celtics defense in the first half to the tune of 72 points but the C's made a game of it by chopping the lead down to 6. Unable to replicate the earlier season comeback magic in Orlando, they ultimately lost. What was also a little lost in the aftermath was KG's performance.
KG returned from a 2-games absence due to personal/family issues and logged 38 minutes while dropping 23 points, grabbing 13 boards and swatting 2 shots. It was his season high in minutes played (he logged 37 twice: opening day at NY and 1/11 vs DAL) and has been the team leader in minutes played amazingly. While he grimaced several times after dunking and/or fouling, it was very encouraging to see him have a solid game.
He was still setting a ton of illegal screens and was very active on defense as usual. Check out the video compilation below of his game vs OKC.
