In part one of Cowbell Kingdom’s two-part discussion with Jason Thompson, the veteran forward breaks down his youth basketball camp taking place this summer in Sacramento. This is the second straight year for the JT Elite Camp and this summer, Thompson will hold two separate week long camps at Hardwood Palace in Rocklin, California.
Thompson is the longest tenured Kings player who has made a positive impact in the community since coming to Sacramento with the 12th overall selection in the 2008 NBA Draft. Camp proceeds go towards the Jason Thompson Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to creating healthy lifestyles for children and young adults.
The first camp runs from June 30 – July 3 and the second is scheduled for August 4-8. Camps run from 9 am – 3 pm everyday and focus on basketball, of course, but Thompson and his crew also promote healthy eating habits and physical conditioning. The camp is open to first graders all the way up to 12th graders.
