The Video of the Day is from the last time the Bucs beat the Packers IN GREEN BAY as members of the NFC Central! The last win we showed you yesterday which was Cadillac Williams rookie year of 2005.
In 1989, the Bucs were coming off Vinny Testaverde’s worst year as a pro, where he threw 35 interceptions. Think about THAT next time your down on Josh Freeman! But here on opening day, Vinny went a great 22 of 27 for 205, NO INTS and won the game. In fact, Green Bay played well too, and Chris Berman on NFL Primetime that evening commented that this Bay of Pigs game was no Bay of Pigs at all. Both teams were improved.
The Bucs would go out and lost to the mighty 49ers the next week at home by a few points, when an almost INT gave Joe Montana another chance, and the Bucs LOOKED the part of a real team. Of course Ray Perkins had the Bucs in midseason form at this point, and wore them out by week 8 when they started losing. But for the opener, the Bucs looked great, at Green Bay.
