Ryan Reaves hasn’t had a great 2015-16 to date. Aside from missing some of his usual great forechecking and speed, Reaves has also refrained from dropping his gloves. That changed on Saturday when he fought for the first time this season, battling Calgary’s Deryk Engelland.
Fighting is down in the NHL and that’s evident in Reaves. He had eight scraps last season while it took until December for him to ring up his first fight this season. Maybe it’s due to the fact he and Engelland have a bit of a history, fighting once in 2011 and once in 2013.
