Video: Spurs’ Leonard on playing for U.S. Select team, reflects on rookie season

The U.S. Men’s Olympic basketball team kicked off their training camp in Las Vegas in the hopes of capturing another gold medal in the basketball tournament in London this summer.

And although no San Antonio Spurs player are on the national team’s roster, Kawhi Leonard and DeJuan Blair are part of the U.S. Select Team which will scrimmage against Team U.S.A. and help in their training for the London Games.

In the video below, Leonard spoke on playing for the Select Team saying he is enjoying the time in Vegas and is simply having fun. As for his rookie season with the Spurs, Leonard says many thought he couldn’t score the ball and it motivated him to work on his outside shot. Leonard also said everyone on the Spurs put him under his wing and pulled him through struggles in his first season in the NBA.

From playing for Gregg Popovich, success in the NBA, his big hands to his goal of winning an NBA title and much more, check out what Leonard had to say.
