Steven Stamkos scored his 250th NHL goal 47 seconds into the second period against the Washington Capitals at Amalie Arena tonight. It was his 17th goal of the season and was assisted by Ryan Calahan. He is the tenth youngest player in NHL history to reach the mark.
Stamkos is the sixth fastest to score 260 goals. He scored it in his 439th game, behind only Alex Ovechkin (366), Teemu Selanne (388), Eric Lindros (406), Pavel Bure (422) and Alexander Mogilny (428).
