Video: UConn Hockey Hopes To Be Successful On Power Play

Last season, the UConn hockey team was a dismal 13-of-124 (10.5%) on the power play last season. So far in the 2015-2016 season, the UConn hockey team is 2-of-13 (15.4%).

Sure it’s a smaller sample size right now but if the UConn hockey team is to have success this season, they’ll need to improve on last season’s numbers.

And if they don’t, UConn hockey head coach Mike Cavanaugh has no one to blame but himself. The reason being is that Cavanaugh is coaching the power play this season.

While just 2-of-13 this season, the UConn hockey power play has looked good with the point guard of it, freshman Max Letunov, anchoring it. Letunov has provided the assists on both of Spencer Naas’ power play goals this season.

How will the UConn hockey power play unit do this afternoon against the Boston University Terriers at 4 p.m.? We’ll have to wait to find out.
