While the UConn men’s hockey team kicked off their 2015-16 schedule last Friday on the road in Alabama, they’ll begin the home portion of the schedule this Friday night against the Arizona State Sun Devils.
With that, there will be some new faces to look out for.
UConn men’s hockey coach Mike Cavanaugh recruited a much heralded freshman class this season and if you look at the UConn men’s hockey stats, you’ll see they’ve already made an impact.
Two freshman, Max Letunov and Tage Thompson are atop the UConn men’s hockey scoring leaders.
In the season-opening win against Alabama-Huntsville, Letunov had a hat trick while Thompson had two assists. Freshman D Joseph Masonius added a goal as well.
The next night, a 5-2 loss to Alabama-Huntsville, Thompson and Letunov provided the assists on Miles Gendron’s first career goal for the UConn men’s hockey team.
It’s safe to say, the UConn men’s hockey team has a bright future ahead of itself.
