Vikings tickets 4% above average for Lions game

Baltimore 354

The Minnesota Vikings took a dip in Week 5, as they endured life without rookie franchise passer Teddy Bridgewater. It was a minor hiccup on the road to progress, however, as Bridgewater (ankle) declared himself 100% for Week 6 and should be ready to face the Detroit Lions.

With Bridgewater back under center, the Vikes offer real promise to get their season back on track. If they can do that, they’ll be providing major value for Vikings tickets, even though the secondary market price is slightly above average at TCF Bank Field this season. Vikings vs Detroit Lions tickets have an average price of $141.35, 4% above the season average, with a get-in price of $43.

While the team is still figuring out how to get along without star running back Adrian Peterson (on exempt list), they seem to have enough offensive tools to compete. Of course, saying is easier than doing when you’re talking about the Lions, who boast the league’s top-ranked overall defense. If the Vikings are going to get the upset this week, they’ll have to find a way to run the ball against a ferocious front line. Detroit has swarmed ball carriers all season, and currently sits at #3 overall against the run on the year.

With Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon not safe bets to go off on this matchup, the success of the offense is probably going to fall on Bridgewater’s shoulders. The good news is that if the Lions do have a weakness, it’s still over the top in the secondary. Furthermore, this would be a fantastic week to finally get explosive wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson involved more. He may be crucial to Minnesota’s success.

On the other side, Minnesota is potentially being dealt a huge favor, as stud receiver Calvin Johnson is dealing with a high ankle sprain and may sit out this week. Reggie Bush and Joique Bell are also trying to recover from ailments of their own. Collectively, Detroit’s offensive health isn’t great and if they show up under-manned, it may give the Vikings the exact edge they need.
