The McMahon Family’s “shake-up” of WWE continues this week, as The Chairman of the Board, Mr. McMahon, released the video below, dressed as Santa Claus, making some major announcements coming to WWE in the very near future.
First off in the video, Mr. McMahon announces that on next week’s very special New Year’s Eve edition of WWE Raw, a Steel Cage match will take place featuring Dolph Ziggler vs Drew McIntyre.
Also in the video, “Santa McMahon” announces that in 2019, Women’s Tag Team Titles will be coming for the first-time ever in WWE.

Several WWE stars have already reacted to the news of the tag team titles coming to WWE, with Peyton Royce Tweeting, “My heart is so full this is something @BillieKayWWE & I have been so incredibly passionate about for so many years! I am beyond excited to be the FIRST EVER @WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions!”

Also in the video, Vince reveals that John Cena is “back” in WWE, as the leader of the Cenation will be making his return to WWE TV following his return to live events during the holiday tour, kicking off at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. Cena will also be making Smackdown live event appearances throughout the holiday tour, and Vince McMahon noted in the video that Cena will be back on both Raw and Smackdown Live, meaning Cena will likely not be specific to one brand when he returns to TV.

“Prepare for a sea of Cenation flags to be raised and waved in cities across the country next month when John Cena returns to WWE Live.
“Returning to the ring for the first time since WWE Super Show-Down in Australia, the 16-time World Champion gears up for action in a series of WWE Live Events, beginning next month.
“Before you can once again see him in the ring, check out the dates in the following cities for John Cena’s WWE Live Event appearances:
“Madison Square Garden, New York – Dec. 26, Nassau Coliseum, New York – Dec. 27, Royals Farms Arena, Baltimore — Dec. 28, PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh – Dec. 29, Amalie Arena, Tampa, Fla. – Dec. 30, Columbus Civic Center, Columbus, Ga. – Jan. 4, Donald L. Tucker Civic Center, Tallahassee, Fla. – Jan. 5, Hertz Arena, Ft. Myers, Fla. – Jan. 6, Amway Center, Orlando, Fla. – Jan. 7 (Raw), Charleston Civic Center, Charleston, W.Va. – Jan. 11, Knoxville Civic Coliseum, Knoxville, Tenn. – Jan. 12, Von Braun Civic Center, Huntsville, Ala. – Jan. 13, FedEx Forum, Memphis, Tenn. – Jan. 14.”
John Cena made sporadic WWE appearances in 2018, appearing at events such as WrestleMania and WWE Super Show-Down. With Cena’s busy Hollywood schedule keeping him in China for most of 2018, it was difficult for Cena to work full-time with WWE. It remains unclear how long Cena’s next full-time WWE run will last, as he is next set to begin shooting a new movie being produced by The Rock, titled The Janson Directive. Cana plays the lead role in the film, which is set to begin shooting sometime in 2019.
