Vince Young Named Rookie of the Year

Tennessee quarterback Vince Young has been named as the Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year in a vote by fans. It’s yet another honor for Young, who was also selected as the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year by the Associated Press.
“It’s a great honor. I want to thank everyone who has supported me over the years and for all the fans that voted for me,” said Young, who also thanked his teammates.
The Titans had a 8-5 record with Young as the starting quarterback to finish with a 8-8 record, one win away from a playoff berth. The eight wins included six in a row and four come-from-behind victories. Young passed for 12 touchdowns and ran for seven more in his rookie campaign.
Young finished ahead of running backs Joseph Addai of the Colts, Reggie Bush of the Saints, and Maurice Jones-Drew of the Jaguars, and Bears return specialist Devin Hester.
“He deserved it,” said Bush. “He played his heart out this year and took his team to another level.”
