Temple defensive tackle Freddie Booth-Lloyd never touched the field on gameday during his freshman year. But it had nothing to do with a lack of talent.
Booth-Lloyd was redshirted in 2014 to add depth for the upcoming season. With nine offensive and all 11 defensive starters returning for the Owls in 2015, giving Booth-Lloyd an extra year to learn the defense and fill the depth chart for a championship run this season was worth the wait, if this Vine from last March is any indication of the young D-Lineman’s potential.
The Vine shows Booth-Lloyd running sprinting a relay for his former high school track team, presumably taking the gold with him. The 315 pound Cocoa, Fla., native runs so fast that one might assume the Vine was something constructed from Final Cut Pro, but it’s 100 percent real.
I’m just glad I won’t have to block this 300 pound-sprinting-hyphenated last name wearing defensive tackle.
